At a special function organized in Lucknow, 840 applicants from all over the state were officially registered to open Janaushadhi Kendras. Speaking at the function the chief guest Jeetendra Trivedi, director in Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, said that now even a poorest of poor can afford lifesaving drugs. CEO of the Bureau of Pharmacy, Viplav Chatterjee said that BPPI is going to provide even a surgery kit merely at Rs 30 thousand which is sold at Rs 1.50 Lakh by the multinational pharma companies. Such plunder by multinational companies will now be restricted with the new Janaushadhi stores. The pharmacists present on the occasion told the 2is that they are confident of doing good business. Naresh Gautam, from Jaunpur said Janaushadhi will certainly attract customers magnetically. He expressed confidence that new generic medicines will help common people.
