Smart Home Automation Response Kit (SHARK) may soon be here and would be the World’s Cheapest Home Automation Solution so far! It is an ambitious project to simplify the lives of people by a team of 5 young engineers who came together to fill a vacant spot in the Indian markets. Thus was born the most cost-effective home automation kit.
Shashwat Singh, Sonu Kumar Singh, Ravi Kumar Gupta, Akshay Singh and Yashashvi Singh are budding Computer Science and Electronics Engineers who want to do something different and useful so as to facilitate the lives of people in general. We all know that IOT* has not yet made it to the Indian markets, so we engineered a low cost device that works and provides a solution to the problem, says Shashwat. The device works on a sophisticated software to enable the users to control all the electricity appliances at their homes with just a click. “First of all we tested it in our own college and on receiving a good response we planned to proceed with more experimentation in order to make it more user-friendly,” informed Shashwat Singh.
Some special features of SHARK include: high affordability, works on 2g Connection (Aircel Network), works on Wifi connection/automatic Wifi hotspot for local usage, it is a DIY(do it yourself) but complete online support is also available for the user, customized home screen app, modular based, implemented on TLS 1.2 security on both cloud and app side, on MQTT protocol with standard OAuth 2.0 security implementation on App side. In a layperson’s language: it is a highly secured and super fast system which works on even 2g internet connection.
There are 26 products in the Shark kit like K control, K- Meter, Smart door lock, Sleeping baby protector and Smart music system to name a few.
They plan to launch K control and smart door lock first. With the help of K control you can control all your electrical devices like TV fan light etc., the coverage area would be approximately 2 rooms in an average house. The cost would be around 7000-8000/- for such a device.
Shashwat says that they haven’t stopped experimenting on the kit and are focusing their attention on making it voice responsive, ie.,it will respond to voice(orders) of the user who wouldn’t even have to click to emanate a response. We are currently raising funds to make it consumer ready product and we have invited major startup investors interested in IOT to invest in this, the investment till date has been 1.5 Lakhs and it has taken 1.5 years to reach this level. We were bewildered to know that Apple is proposing a cost of Rs. 45000 for the device, it got us thinking real hard as we wanted something for the masses and not only for the elite and ultimately we came up with the solution, but we still have a long way to go…
Five cheers to the ‘bright Five!’ We are confident of your success.
