  • National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad launches an app named “Nutrify India Now”

New Delhi: The National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), Hyderabad, has launched a new app which will prove useful in making people aware about the nutritional requirements of their body. Dr. Balram Bhargava, Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) launched the ‘Nutrify India Now’  app on Friday (June 29th) in New Delhi.

What is the speciality of this app

This new app will serve as a guide for people. Through it, it will be possible to find out how much nutrients the body will get from the foods you are using. Not only this, with the help of this app, it will be easy to keep an eye on the energy balance (how much energy is spent, how much has been spent). ‘Nutrify India’ is available in 17 Indian languages. This app can be downloaded for free in both Android and iOS versions.

What information will you get from this app

The ‘Nutrify India’ app has been developed based on the guidelines of ICMR. After a lot of research, special databases have been used to develop this app keeping in mind the Indian population. It contains special mention of Indian food items, recipes and nutritional information. Through this app, nutrients and food items can be searched according to your interests.

The App will help fight communicable diseases: 

Dr. Balram Bhargava said that this app can also be helpful in fighting non-communicable diseases, which is the main goal of The Indian Council of Medical Research, ICMR Dr. Hemlata, director of NIN says that this app will serve as a personal nutrition advisor to the people and make them aware by providing nutritional information.
