Modi’s attack on Dewegowda and JDS in Tumakuru election rally

Tumakuru: In his attempt to give a big push to BJP’s efforts to return to power in the state for a second time unseating the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday address four public meetings in his third round of campaigning.

PM Modi will begin the day with a rally at Tumakuru, followed by three more at Gadag, Shivamogga and Managaluru at 2:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm respectively.


Highlights from his speech:

Modi started his speech and said that the Tumakuru is home to several greats and that he had visited the district shortly after taking over as the PM to seek blessings of Sri Sri Sri Sivakumar Swamiji at the Sree Siddaganga Mut.

He then tore into the Congress, the JD(S) for not doing anything for farmers. He said: “From the time of Indira Gandhi, Congress party has only fooled poor people of the society to win elections. Congress was never interested in providing water to the farmers. They were busy filling their safes with illegal money.”

He ended his speech by urging voters to elect the BJP to ensure there is overall development

The prime minister, who was earlier scheduled to address 15 rallies, will now hold 21 public meetings across the poll-bound state.
